Who We Are
-
The Shop
As players ourselves, we have experienced both sides of shopping for a new instrument. We built Berry and Barnes Fine Violins to streamline the process for our clients.
We decided to skip the showroom and bring instruments directly to you— so you can hear them in a familiar space without distractions. You play instruments in your own home or studio with expert guidance and insight, Nate gets to meet your pets… it’s a win-win.
At our Auburn shop, Ben diagnoses and treats all bowed instrument ailments. When you bring your instrument to us, our exacting workmanship and high quality fittings tailor each setup to your unique playing.

Nate Berry
Nate has had a violin in hand since he was five, whether performing, teaching, or tinkering. He graduated from the Violin Repair Program in Red Wing, MN and worked with luthier John Osnes in Anchorage, AK before moving to Washington. Nate has a passion for working with musicians as they find their sound, and brings his unique blend of technical and performance knowledge to the sales experience. He always seeks to understand what players are looking for and how to achieve it, whether through a new instrument, bow, or adjustments to their current set-up.
